Today I was doing 70 mph
in a 50 mile zone, there were very few cars on the road, when my Escort 8500 displayed "Laser" message
. I slammed on the brakes almost immediately, it took me about 3 seconds, I guess, to slow down to legal 50. I looked in the reaview mirror, there were few cars there, none of them was a marked cop car.
The "Laser" message was on for about 5 seconds, then it dissappered, only to appear few seconds later, and then dissappeared completely. Well, I took an exit about 1/2 mile after the alert - no body was following me.
Now, that I thought about it, there was a heavy traffic jam on the opposite side of the highway, may be the cop was clocking me from there
?
My question is: Can a cop send me a ticket based on his laser reading and the video footage from his in-car video camera?
