HOV lane voilation

What is the name of your state? NJ

Hello all, i got a ticket for driving in a HOV lane when i didnt have 3 or more people in my car. The officer forgot to put my VIN # on the ticket, does that make the ticket not complete and invalidate it? I saw on the NY news channel saying if cops messes up on writing the ticket up , you might not have to pay it.

thanks
Laura

Lemme see if I get this.

You broke the law, and you are now looking for a technicality to get out of your punishment?

Do you normally get your legal advice about NJ laws from a New York TV show??

I don't understand how you could get an HOV lane violation in NJ, considering HOV restrictions were removed from all NJ highways about 2 years ago. The paint is still on the road, but the signs were taken down and the rules no longer apply.
