| | | Incomplete Citation What is the name of your state? Texas
On a moving violation the officer did not complete the area which says Print officer Last name, First name.
There is no name on the citation on who the officer is
Does this invalidate the citation?
If I do go to trial should I change the date a few times and hope the officer does not show up? |

| | | | Something similar happend to me. I live in Arizona, and the police officer did not fill out my Middle or last name on the citation. Does it invalidate it? |

| | | Neither situation will invalidate the ticket or be a reason for dismissal.
Tickets are numbered consecutively so it is very easy to determine who wrote the citation.
"If I do go to trial should I change the date a few times and hope the officer does not show up?"
Most courts have caught on to this tactic and will only allow one continuance. It may or may not work.
As for not filling in your name that is obtainable from you Drivers License number. If that is correct you are out of luck.
Texas and Arizona allows online traffic school so that is probably your best option. For more information

| | | | lwpat,
I'm not eligable for defensive driving (took it 10 months ago). I have been told to ask for a trial by Jury, which you can do in TX, and ask for deffered adjudication. Is this the right thing to do? |

You have posted no information on the violation or the circumstaces so I can only assume that you are guilty. If that is correct then exactly what do you intend to do for a defense in front of a jury?
As I understand they way Texas works once you plead not guilty and ask for a jury trial you will have a pretrial conference with the ADA and can negotiate for a lesser penalty or for a deferment.
You need to verify this with the court because in some states you lose your right to take traffic school or a deferment once you request a trial. | |
