nj driver is pulled over in pa for careless driving. i accidently cut off a state trooper when the truck in front of me slowed down and i had to think quick. there are 3 problems with the traffic citation/summons i was given: 1) the address of the magisterial distric office is hard to read because of the officer's handwriting, 2) the officer recorded the wrong make of my car, and 3) my fine is broken up into four parts, but i calculated it on my own, and it does no add up correctly to the total amount due. The officer was not clear in explaining the citation to me, just said to follow the directions on the back of the paper. I was not informed that i was being fined until i asked and there was no mention of points being put on my license. i have never been pulled over before, so i do not know what is the norm for such a situation. my question is, given the inconsistancies and sloppyness of my citation, can i challenge it? any additional comments are welcome. thanks. |
