Insurance

[SIZE=3]I received a ticket for expired insurance, however, I have insurance I just forgot to put it in my car. How much is the fine for this and can I just show a judge that I had insurance at the time the ticket was given? Will it then be dismissed? State is California. Thanks for your help.[/SIZE]
