Question

Interstate license suspension

What is the name of your state?NJ & NC

Unknown to me, my insurance company cancelled my policy, (Not for accidents or points, I'm a trucker and haven't had a point or accedent in 20 years) and subsequently the NJDMV suspended my license and registation. Was stopped, 'nuff said.

The question: I have a job offer in North Carolina and will need my drivers license there. I can survive, poorly, in NJ without a license but not in NC. If found guilty of these charges, would my NEW North Carolina license, obtained after the tickets but before the court date, be suspended by a New Jersey judge? (or by NCDMV?)

Thanks for any insight.

There is more to the story than you are telling. An insurance company cannot just cancel you policy without notification, even for nonpayment. Likewise your license and registration will not be suspended without notice.

You are required to notify your employer of any citations received as a CDL driver. If you do not list the DWS on your application then you will be subject to termination when they find out and they will find out.

You need to retain an attorney since a suspension on your license is extremely bad news for a truck driver and with the DWS to top it off you will not be employed for long.

Thanks**************

.....for the reply. Yes, there is more to the story but that's not the issue. Prudential screwed up, then changed it's name in NJ so when notification came to me, if it came to me, I probably threw it away with the junk mail. Also, I moved to care for a sick parent and didn't notify DMV so wasn't notified.

But back to my original question.

Can a NJ judge (or simply his ruling) suspend my NC license.

Since you seem very interested in the field of law, can a NJ cop stop a motorist if he "Couldn't Tell" if I had a seat belt on or not? Additionally, can he simply type my plate # in to his computer for no apparent reason?

Thanks
