| | | Judge or Jury? What is the name of your state? Georgia
For you trial experts.
If going to trial for a speeding ticket, should you request a jury trial or take your chances with the judge?

| | | Based on my experience with traffic court judges I would opt for the jury.
You might want to consider a No Contest plea. In GA they allow you to do this once every five years and no points are placed on your license. Your insurance company will still be able access the violation for insurance points. |

| | | lwpat, thanks for the reply.
Plead guilty or no contest, no way! I filed a discovery notice and found that the officer added some additional comments and filled in some blanks on his ticket to cover his ass. He must have forgot that he gave me a copy. |

| | | There is nothing wrong with adding comments on the ticket or filing in some of the blanks later. If you are thinking that will be a reason for dismissal you are mistaken. |

| | | I am aware of this. There is a limit of what I want to disclose in a public forum. |

| | | | always go for a trial BY jury. Make sure it is a trial by jury and not a trial with jury because in the latter, the jury has no authority and the judge can do whatever he wants regardless of their judgement. Judges are usually biased against you, but a jury can be neutral, which is a VERY good thing to have. | |
