He'll be ordered to pay a fine.

What VAT Section was he cited for violating?

If it any section within Article 24, sections 1110 thru 1117 or Article 28 sections 1160 thru 1166 then it will not have an effect on his ability to get his senior license nor will it result in a suspension. that is assuming he has no other convictions on his record.

As I stated previously, nothing will happen to his license. He should be able to proceed with getting his senior license normally. This violation, and assuming he's convicted, will add violation points to his record so first, he needs to be more careful driving so that he doesn't get cited again and second, a conviction will most likely affect his insurance premium amount.

Well, with this type of violation, it either happened or it didn't. Its not like a speeding citation where you can request calibration records or try to question the accuracy of the speed measurement... etc. If the sign is properly posted then there no if and or buts about it. He may want to try speaking to the prosecutor to see if they'll allow him to plead it down to a non-moving violation but only they can answer that question.
