Juvenile arraignment

We live in California, where my 17 yr.old son was sited for having a speed contest against another vehicle,( Ca. VC 23109 a ). His friend, driving the other car, went through the flashing red light my son was stopped at when the officer saw them. He pulled them both over on 9-3-01. He admitted his guilt,(can he be questioned without me present?).He got his notice to appear for arraignment on Dec. 6. Is this something I should retain an attorney for? Is there a statute of limitations for arraignments?

Yes, hire an attorney.
Of course he can be questioned without you there. He has his own driver's license so he don't need you in the car.
