Ladder rack on personal truck

What is the name of your state? new jersey
is there a law on the books that states that a person cannot have a ladder rack on his or her personal pick up truck unless they have commercial plates?

None that I can find. Check with your DMV and ask them if they say yes, ask for the section number of the law.

My response:

How exceedingly helpful you are, "No Lawyer Here"! Gee, don't you think the writer could have thought of that answer by himself?

Copy and paste this link into your browser without the [URL] on each side:

You'll soon discovery that it's not your Ladder Rack that garnered you the ticket; rather, it was your truck and how you answered the police officer. You see, the ladder rack was just an "indicator" to the officer to stop you with probable cause, in conjunction with the fact that you didn't have commercial plates.

However, what really sunk your boat was that your truck looked like it was set up for business within the State, and your response to the officer when he asked you if you use the truck for business / commericial purposes.

ladder rack

thanks for your replies to my question.
however i never told the officer that infact i used my truck for commercial purposes.
all i stated was that i was unaware that i wasn't allowed to have a rack on my truck without having commercial plates. therefore he assume that i used the truck for buisness.
Why should i be made an example of when half the officers and firemen moonlight as contractors without the extra added expense of commercial plates and/or commercial auto insurance.
so my next question is, are they above the law?

So, you don't like having received a ticket. Go down to your local courthouse at the time and date for your hearing and 'tell it to the judge'. He is the ONLY one who can help you resolve your problem.
