Laser gun locked on wrong car

What is the name of your state? KY

My daughter had her cruise control set at 56 in a 55 mph zone and a small truck passed her doing about 80. The state policeman coming towards them pointed his gun and ended up pulling my daughter over and accused her of doing 76. She tried to explain that she had her cruise set but he basically called her a liar and she was afraid to say anything about the other vehicle. We live about 2 1/2 hrs. away but I have to fight this. We had her cruise control verified by the car dealership, but that doesn't prove she had it set at 56. What, if anything can we do about this? In the 5 yrs she has been driving she has never been pulled over. Help!!
