Is this legal?

What is the name of your state? California

I recently got a "skateboarding on campus" ticket for skating from class to my car. The CVC cited was 231113(a). Now, there is no CVC 231113(a). The closest would be CVC 23113(a), which is basically littering. I looked up the correct code, which is 2113(a).

When I went to plead not guilty and post bail, the clerk wrote the correct code above what the officer wrote. I went in today to ask about this and they said it had been entered as 2113(a) even though the officer screwed up and wrote the wrong code.

I don't think they can do that, can they?

Give it to a traffic ticket attorney. Pay the 40 - 85 bucks to your attorney and be done with it. I’ve tried to fight tickets and it gets you no were.

At least the attorney can write a motion to dismiss if the officers notes are incorrect because it challenges the offices ability to remember all of the facts.
