License plate number incorrect on ticket

What is the name of your state? north carolina

License plate # was spelled out incorrectly. Can I have the ticket dismissed based on that alone, would a lawyer help? My friend in police training informed me that license tag or vin #'s is one of the things that has to be correct.

A: No; that is just an identifier and has nothing to do with the violation.
