I was recently pulled over in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and I failed to produce proof of insurance (mine was expired.) I was cited. I plead guilty and paid my fine and purchased an insurance policy. Then, a few weeks later, I received a letter in the mail stating that my license was going to be revoked for 3 months. I live alone with no family in the area. I absolutely need my license. I was wondering if you could explain to me what options, if any, I have. Can I appeal this? And if I can, how do I go about it? Is there any way I can avoid having my license suspended?

Well, you're about SOL.

Your right to appeal the citation expires after 30 days from the date you plead guilty. You saying a "few weeks later" leads me to believe it is probably past the 30 day window.

The license suspension is set by statute. You could speak with an attorney about appealing the suspension with PennDOT, but sincerely don't know what good it would do.

I plead guilty on April 21. The letter I received in the mail lstated that I had 30 days from May 3rd to appeal. How do I go about an appeal? Do I have any other options? I have since purchased insurance. What about a limited license for work purposes?
