Live in NC, Speeding in VAWhat is the name of your state? NC I was speeding going 51 in a 35 in virgina. I know this is not reckless but what i was wondering was if i just plead guilty and pay the fine will it transfer to NC or will i be safe in just paying it off. Bottom line is i dont want my insurance to go up. |

| This will earn you two insurance points and a 45% insurance increase in NC. If you or a lawyer can plead it down to 9 over there will be no insurance impact if you have no other convictions. NC Traffic Points |

speedingI too live in NC and got a ticket in Va...54 in a 35. Went to court and pled guilty. Got the ticket reduced to 43 in a 35 and paid court cost and fined 5$ for every mile over speed limit. total roughly 100 bucks. Found out that it goes on your NC record but dmv doesn't assess points. Also found out that being only 8 over didn't cost me on my insurance. |

VA ticket, NC residentI represent a lot of NC residents who are charged with speeding and reckless driving in Central and Southern Virginia. In most jurisdictions, you can hire an attorney to appear on your behalf, without you needing to take the day off from work to defend yourself on this case. If your record is relatively clean, there should be little difficulty in getting the charge reduced. Another option, depending on the jurisdiction, is for the judge to allow you to go to driver improvement school and dismiss the charge outright upon completion.
