| | | Lost Speeding Ticket What is the name of your state? Missouri
On January 3rd, 12:05 AM, I recieved a deserved speeding ticket of 15 MPH over the posted limit of 45. I lost the ticket and now I don't know who I should contact to get a copy. I know the county and cities I was in, but I was pulled over by a State Trooper and I am not sure whether I should contact the state or the county police for the copy. Also, will I have points applied to my liscense? If I do, what would they affect? |

| | | | i think you should contact the issuing agency. the trooper who cited you probably works out of the state police office closest to where you were cited. in california, the officer gives the driver one copy, sends one copy to the court, and files the third copy with their own office.
as far as points against a driving record, in california, the point(s) go on with the conviction, in other words, if you are found guilty the point(s) will be added when the actual ticket is updated on your record.
points are used by insurance companys to determine the cost of a driver's auto insurance premium and by dmv, who can impose probation or suspension on a driver's privilege to drive in that state for accumulating a certain number of points within a certain period of time.

| | | | So I just need to find out what that agency is? How would I go about doing that. I am 19 and haven't had any tickets before and I have no idea what to do. I searched in the Missouri State Highway Patrol's website, but didn't find anything that would give me any information about where I recieved it. If I called the state headquarters, would they have any information about it for me? Thank you for your reply by the way. |

| | | Call information and ask for the magistrate's ofice in the county that you received the ticket. The clerk of court should be able to help you.
You can do a Google search for the county also since most now have a website listing the courts. |

| | | Also, keep a detailed log of all your efforts to find info regarding the ticket. It may help you get a new court date if you miss yours.

| | | | I didn't have a court date on the ticket. At least not that I recall. | |
