Lost TicketI received a speeding ticket in Jefferson County, by a Colorado State Patrol Officer on 10/14/01. I subsequently lost the ticket and am trying to determine how I can pay the ticket. The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) told me that I must send the actual ticket along with payment, otherwise the court will send my payment back to me. The DMV told me that they can issue me a copy of the ticket, but it will take approximately 6 weeks before the ticket shows up in their system. By that time my ticket will be overdue. Does anyone know what I can do to pay this ticket on time? ![]() |

| Call the DMV back and find out what court you're supposed to appear in. Call that court and see if you can get your court date moved farther back. It's too bad, though. One ticket I got in CO had an automatic point reduction if you paid within 10 days. I hated to just pay it but the officer really had me dead to rights. I couldn't really fault him. You might see if you can contact the officer and get a copy of HIS copy of the ticket, or see if he can reissue it. |
