Speeding ticket on cruise control
What is the name of your state? Utah

I set my cruise control at the posted limit of 25mph. I got pulled over for doing 43! I told the officer no way was I speeding, not even 1mph and asked him to get in my car and I would prove to him what my cruise was set at. He said he clocked my bumper coming over the crest of a hill -- and then going back down the hill -- at 43. Out of the "goodness of his heart" he wrote the ticket for 39 in a 25 zone. I asked when his radar gun was calibrated; he said that morning. I was not speeding. If anything, the 5 cops camped out at this particular spot this day were running a speed trap.

Can I fight this on physics that the bumper goes faster than 25 going over the top of a hill or something else? The officer also wrote my licence plate down wrong and noted that the vehicle was a Pathfinder (a Nissan), but it is a 4Runner (Toyota.)

Thank you.

My response:

I did, I did!

Look at my last sentence. Hey, it takes a few days for processing!

Our writer must have one of those "cartoon" bumpers - - it just sorta stretches forward at the top of a hill, and then the rest of the car catches up! (beee-oh-whipppp)

That, that, that's all folks!
