I live in North Carolina and yesterday I was ticketed for 61 in a 45 and passing on a double yellow line. Six months ago I was ticketed for 78 in a 65, but that was later dropped due to improper equipment. Well in my county, you just have to go infront of the District Attorney. I have a few questions. Should I go before the DA myself and tell him I will take some sort of traffic school and hopefully he will drop both of the charges? Or should I hire a lawyer and have him to take care of it? And does anybody know what the fines will be and how much my insurance will raise if I am charged.
