Need info on a no insurance ticket..State: IL City: Peoria County: Peoria I have a no insurance ticket from July 99. I currently owe $800 on it before I can renew my license. I now have the insurance card for that time period, is the statue of limitations up for me to file a "motion to vacate"? And if not how long does a motion like that take? My thanks |

| You are still guilty as charged since you did not have insurance at the time of the infraction. |

Let me amend my query....In response to the response I recieved let me update so that homeguru's post doesn't accidentally prevent the answer I seek. The vehicle was insured with full coverage (thereby covering any driver of it)and I was already informed by a judge that the owners insurance card would be fine for a motion to vacate. My dilemma is I have just now had the ability to obtain the insurance card. That being the case my only question is it too late to file a "motion to vacate"? Has the statue of limitations run out? The ticket was issued in July 99 in Peoria, IL...Peoria County. Hope that clarifies, thanks again. |
