A new defense to speed camera tickets?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MD, but coming soon to a state near you!

Quite an interesting problem, one which may have some unintentional consequences for the motoring public across the country.

I read that piece yesterday. My thought is the authorities will have to verify the vehicle in the photo matches the license plate.

Leave it to the kids nowadays to figure this stuff out. LOL!

Which is all well and good when the plate is registered to a green Ford and the picture shows a white Chevy, but what happens when they rent/find a matching car to put the fake plate on?

Enough people do it and the system collapses, perhaps rightly so

Amen. I always applaud someone pointing out the glaring holes in a system, even if it is a juvenile prank.

Especially if enough people use the Judges' "license plate."

How is it a "new defense" when in fact it might leave someone (whose car matches that one the pranksters used) defenseless?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't RLC & Speed Camera tickets convictions dependant upon the court's ability to positively match of the person in the picture to the registered owner who typically will receive the citation?

This might work against the dim-wits who receive the citation, pull out the checkbook, fill in the amount, sign and mail it in (and I'm sure many people do just that).

Anyone in their right mind will at least look at the picture to see who the heck was in the driver's seat!!!
