Ok, i got a ticket for doing 44 in a 25. (19 miles an hour over)

the ticket list it as 20-25 miles an hour over the speed limit,

the officers notation says 44 mph in a 25 mph

when i go to court, do you think i can get this dismissed on a technicality, as i am CHARGED with 20 miles over, but the Officers statement clearly shows i only did 19.
Not saying i agree i was doing 19 miles over, just curious as to this approach.

I am sure the judge will correct the error for you. Your best defense is to prove you weren't speeding and you certainly can't say that.

NJ does have a deferment which will keep the ticket off your record but I think there is a $250.00 surcharge which came from the ex governor. Depending on your record you may just want to negotiate for a lesser fine/points and save the deferment. Take cash since most courts will not accept a check or credit card.

If you try it your way take lots more cash since you will need it.
