No Ticket Instead Court Date??

Hey I live In Connecticut and Iam 17 years old.

I got a ticket the other day for speeding i was going 60 on a 45 and i didnt have my liscence on me (but I have a liscence). And instead of giving me a ticket i got a Promise to Appear Instead. So now i gotta go to court does anyone know why?

Thank You So Much For Your Help

It's easier to take you to jail, they are often in the same building.

I would suggest you and your parents show up at the designated time. Dress neatly and do not chew gum. The judge will want an explanation for your actions on the particular day and based on what you say, will issue an appropriate sentence. I would also suggest being prepared to pay a fine on that day too. And don't forget your license.

Thank You For The Advice

But why did they give me a Court date instead of a Ticket. I was Drving with the traffic, it was late at night, I was going 62 on a 40 thats not recklace drving, and I have my liscense but i had just left it at Home (well it was in my car but it had somehow fallin under my e brake and i couldnt find it to show him <I fell really dumb). And i was a little nervious becasue that was my first ticket so i really didnt know what to do. He pulled me over at a red light and was treating me really nice, but gave me a court date.

Any guesses how much my fine can be?? And what will happen this is my first offense
