North Carolina - Speeding TicketNorth Carolina, Mecklenburg County, Speeding Ticket, 57 in a 35 mph -- non-school, non-construction. I was given the ticket by the officer who was respectable enough, it was my short temper caused by a careless driver that caused the speeding. But enough with that. He didn't ask me to sign the ticket, just gave it to me and I went on my merry way. Does this void the ticket? |

North Carolina Speeding TicketIf you pay the ticket your license will be suspended. Call the court and find out the ADA handling the case and office hours. Go in and he will probably allow you to do a PFJ. If not retain an attorney. There is a find an attorney link on this site or Google "North Carolina speeding ticket." |

| To expand a little on what lpat said, your driving privilege will be revoked for at least 30 days if you are convicted of more than 15 mph over the limit (if you are driving at a speed higher than 55 mph). It will be 60 days if you are convicted of a second charge of speeding over 55 mph and more than 15 mph above the speed limit within one year; or speeding plus reckless driving on the same occasion. Have you had any other tickets within the past year? If it's at all possible to hire an attorney, do so. You have a very good chance of avoiding a suspension, but you'll probably have to pay a fine and your insurance will go up. And SLOW DOWN!!! |
