Notice of Impending arrest warrant / International DL.

What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania.

On may 2005 I was stopped for speeding and I also didn't have my inspection sticker on the windshield because a new windshield had just been put on the car. So I was issued 2 tickets..

I intended to go to court and explain to the judge that my (junk) car just had the windshield replaced therefore i didnt have the sticker and that my speedometer didn't work either which is true and that I'm a student to see if maybe he would lower my ticket..

My hearing date was set for june 6 and on May 28th I was forced to move out of state with my wife as she was starting school in Florida on June 1st.
The ticket was never paid and I now have an Impending arrest warrant..

Now I have a steady job and can afford to pay my tickets.. Can I just pay them from here and get that off of my record?..

Another thing is that I never had a PA drivers license , I only had my International Driver's license.. ( I'm a foreign student)

Any help is greatly appreciated,.
Thank you.

Contact the court that the citation was out of. However, at this point you probably have a warrant for your arrest for not showing in court AND a suspended license status in PA.

This arrest warrant may do bad things for your student visa.

If the officers where you are understand and enforce their state's laws, your "international drivers license" is probably worthless. In most states these things are worthless - as is the license from the nation of origin - once you have taken up residency (i.e. no longer on vacation) or a specific time period has passed.

PA honors foreign licenses or legitimate "international" licenses for one year only. You will need to check on your current state's laws. I can't find that information for FL but I would guess that one year in the US is all you're gonna get there, too.

re Florida driver's license: Drivers who have only an International Driver's license or who move to Fl. & will drive a car or moped, must obtain a Fl. state driver's license within 30 days of arriving in Fl.

Yeah I know that its only valid for 1 year,.. and that's why I havn't driven a vehicle ever since,..

I guess I just want to know if they're going to make me show up in person and then maybe arrest me,.. or if its clear as soon as I pay for it?..

It also wouldnt be too easy for me to go back to PA and show up in court as I don't live there anymore..

Will they still want to arrest me even after I pay the fines?

Thank you both for your advice.

If they have a warrant for your arrest, you likely have to appear. But, if you talk to an attorney in PA they might be able to arrange for the whole thing to be taken care of without your appearance.

If there is no warrant then it should be easy.
