Officer didn't make me sign the ticket

What is the name of your state? Indiana

Live in Illinois, got a ticket for unsafe lane movement in Indiana. I didn't sign the citation, the officer never asked me to.

Can I just claim I never got a copy of the ticket and get it dismissed, or am I still liable?

Thanks!

sure you can, and you can also take a gun and kill someone. Whether you get away with it or not is another question.

Signing the ticket isn't an admission of guilt but simply a promise to appear in court.

And it doesn't have to be signed for the charges to stick. Send in the fine and quit being a jerk.

Yeah, kill somebody...get a minor traffic citation...they are pretty much in the same league...they should probably just lock me up. You've really got your head on straight.

No reason to be a dickhead about it, I just had a simple question to see if it may be a loophole in the system. I guess you are such an upstanding citizen that you would never try to wiggle your way out of a similar situation.

So you must tell me, what exactly is this board for, then? Just for you to try and insult people looking for a little advice? If that's the case, you may want to try and get a bit more creative with your responses and stop comparing traffic tickets to murder.

I thought this might be a place to get advice on situations like this, obviously I ended up coming to the place where the jackass roams free.

*** Of course you can claim you never got a copy.... but then, if you never got a copy, how would you know when to show up or at what court??? So, you need to just ignore the ticket and do NOT show up at court. After all, you can always tell them your situation later.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
