Officer error in writing citation

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts

I received a ticket for speeding. On the citation, where the speed and posted speed boxes are, the officer incorrectly wrote that I was doing 35MPH in a 49MPH zone (instead of 49 in 35 zone). He also wrote the incorrect year for the vehicle.
Are those errors enough to get this ticket thrown out?

Almost certainly, but you failed to ask the obvious follow up question of "what happens if this ticket is dismissed on the basis of a typo?"

One guess what the answer to that one is

Yes, perhaps a new route to work would be in order.

In many jurisdictions if a charge is dismissed for a reason such as this you can be re-issued the ticket there in court and thus you start from scratch again with no typos.

How can they do that, if the cop that wrote the ticket is not there, and no court officer witnessed the "alleged" offense?

Obviously not if the officer is not there. Then you would make a motion to dismiss based on the fact that the ticket does not actually charge you with violating the law.
