I recently got pulled over doing 56 in a 45 construction zone. It was at approximently 9:45 pm, dark outside. The officer was sitting on private land, in the construction zone, and did not have any of his lights on nor could you see him because of the darkness. Is this any kind of entrapment or is there any way to fight this? Or are there any laws in against entrapment on traffic violations? Please respond quickly, THANKS! |

You have not described a scenario that amounts to "entrapment". The fact remains, you were violating traffic speed laws, without government intervention to cause you to speed, and the officer was doing his job. He can't help it if it was dark, nor does he have to announce himself with lights on prior to stopping you. His only need for lights is during his attempt to catch up to you, and to pull you over.
The citation is valid.

| | | | I've heard that it is entrapment in CO, but it's hearsay. | |
