I was cited a ticket for operate watercraft in careless manner
I hit jetski with my speedboat made sure no one was hurt and ask about damages, owner said everything ok That evening the sheriff came to my home and I said I'd pay for damages but wanted to see jetski. The sheriff assured me the damages wouldn't be over $100 she'd make sure I didn't get screwed no need to look at it She told me I had to take care of this in two weeks or it would be a civil matter. Estimate was $430, I called sheriff twice(voicemail) 5 days later she returns my call telling me she was citing me for careless operation of watercraft and she nothing more to do with it. She told the jetski owners I was giving her the runaround and didn't want to pay. I have resolved the matter with owners, but now I have this ticket. Will this affect my driving record? can I fight it, ticket only issued because she said "I gave her run around" Another one of her lies.
