outstanding speeding ticket, another one to top, NY

What is the name of your state? New York

I recieved my first speeding ticket not to long ago - went to city court, opted to take defensive driving and was told to come back on a later date. I lost track of my court date, as it was something like three months later. I don't know how much the ticket is going to be now, seeing as I also never found time to take defensive driving.
A couple weeks ago I recieved another speeding ticket on top of the previous one, obviously not taken care of.

This was pretty careless of me, but it's hard to keep track of a time and set date.

What kind of a punishment am I looking at here? They wont take my liscence will they? Just money, right?

-thanks

There may be a warrant out for your arrest for failure to appear. That can lead to a suspended license or jail or a fine or some combination thereof.

We'd have to know, however, exactly what you were charged with.

Post ordinance numbers or statute numbers.

Cool

The Senior Judge is Correct. At the very least they will eventually suspend your drivers license. I would not be surprised that with the recent history, you could also have or in the works a MISD. warrant. As The Judge had indicated the charges and codes violated will be an issue. never the less, common scence would tell you that you need to communicate with the courts and work this thing out. You are possibly talking about a violation vs this thing turning into a criminal issue./Misd. Not for Advice .For What it's Worth. Patrolman/ J. Buckner

Seriously, contact the courts ASAP. Once I forgot to show up for a speeding ticket, two officers were at my door at 7am the next day with a warrant!

do these things usually take time to process? if i went to them would they arrest me...?

i dont know how much the fine is for, or who exactly to contact in the courts... please help!

the one ticket was for speeding in a school zone, which i tried to get out of because it wasnt during school zone hours - but the guy at the court told me it wasnt worth it to fight...

the second one was just for speeding. something like 50 in a 35...

Not sure how to identify the ordinance code, but the closest thing i can see on the ticket is a space for "NCIC/ORI", followed by 0410200.

I'm going to take care of this as soon as possible, now knowing the concequences, but I also don't want to be arrested upon entering the city court/police station.

Is this just something I'm going to have to deal with? Also, what if I don't have the ammount that I am fined for the speeding/failure to appear?

Thanks for all the help, this is a really great forum.

This is a database code that is universal for all fifty states and US possessions, but I do not have them memorized, so I couldn't tell you what the offense is.

Without ordinance/statue numbers, I can't help you.
