PacingWhat is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Texas I was "Paced" doing 80 in a 65MPH zone. Is Pacing Legal in Texas and is there anyway to get out of this ticket as I know Iwas not speeding, since I knew the officer was following me and I cautiously watched my speed. |

| Yes, pacing is legal. So is estimation. Demonstrating it to the satisfaction of the court is another issue. If you weren't doing 80, how fast WERE you going? - Carl

| 70 the most, because he was right behind me, almost tailgating and I didn't want to deliberately slow down and "upset" him. |

You may want to consider the financial options of fines and potential insurance increases, and then consider whether it is worthwhile to retain counsel and fight (or try it on your own) or simply settle the matter with traffic school or a guilty plea. - Carl

| Thanks, you are right. The best option for me is to just pay the fine. can you tell me one last thing? How far inbetween tickets do you have to be to qualify to take defensive driving? |
