Paid ticket because too late to do anything else

What is the name of your state?California

I was driving my newly purchased "yellow" Corvette a year ago when I was stopped for speeding. The officer claimed his radar clocked me at 66 in a 55 zone. He also wrote me up for having temporary plates, he checked and DMV had sent my plates out. I had not yet received them (it was holiday season and mail may have been slow?). He also wrote me up for no proof of insurance. My insurance co. told me to use the proof from my other car insured by them until I got the new one in the mail, which I did. Officer said I could have had one faxed to me, I have no fax. He also wrote me up for not signaling when I changed lanes, I did not as the only other car on the road was about a mile away in front of me.

I have been driving for over 30 years and never had as much as a parking ticket, ever. When the information for the ticket came I was going to opt for the traffic school so that the ticket would not go on my record. I requested the traffic school information to be sent to me, I received it in the mail and accidentally threw it away. It was a few weeks by the time I realized that I had thrown a bunch of my mail away and got nervous and went on line and paid the ticket so I would not be fined for non payment. Meanwhile, my insurance rates have gone up three times higher than they were.

Is there anything I can do to reverse this situation?

Yes, drive safely and sanely.

Ask your insurance company how long you must pay these bad girl rates before they are lowered.

(By the way, I lost track of the number of citations you received while reading your post, but the number it should be in 3 or 4 years should be zero.)

Good lord, you got raped and sodomized! Ok, just kidding, but next time get a lawyer. Most of those tickets would have been tossed before a judge if you would have brought documentation.

Missdaisy,

Is there anything I can do to reverse this situation?

Tripple the insurance rate is more likely to be result of driving a Corvette than from the violation(s). Generally speaking, only moving violations count with insurance companies. The temp plates and insurance card things ought have no effect. In Texas, the kind of car you drive has a big impact on rates.
