What is the name of your state? CA

I plan to go to court but I have not called the court yet to fight a ticket (CVC 21755).
I want to avoid having to pay a fine right away unless I am found guilty (I plan to plead not guilty). My question is in order to avoid having to pay the fine, do I set up an arraignment first. I understand that I have the choice to do arraignment then I will be schedule for a trial. If I choose to go right to trial my understanding is that I have to pay the fine first.

Please share your experience about this court system. Thanks.
