I have a driving license in my country for the last 15 years.
On my visits to US, can I drive a car in the US on the basis of this license. Should I get a US driving license? If so, how?

A valid driver's license from your home country is all that is required. Don't bother with the so called international driver's licenses, they are not recognized in the US.
