What is the name of your state? Georgia

I got a speeding ticket for 85 in a 55 while on the interstate. While 55 is the posted speed, I was going with the flow. I know, I know, I know.... the posted speed was 55.

I had to appear before the judge. I entered a NOLO plea. I then paid a fine and away I went.

Can anyone tell me what the NOLO plea bought me?

It means you neither admit or deny you broke the law but will pay the fine as if guilty because there is enough evidence to find you guilty. In cases I have seen, it usually results in reduced charges and/or fines. The ticket still goes on your driving record too.
