He did not put how fast fast i was going or an alleged speed. I was going 55 in a 45 and neck and neck with a dodge ram. But no means was i racing him. The ticket is for unsafe speed. If you tell the same story to a judge, it wouldn't be a good idea to suggest you knew the speed you were traveling at the time. You are just guessing that was the speed, anyhow....right...and were traveling with the flow of traffic? If you get a lawyer (and you should), it won't take but a few minutes in court, and you do have a chance of relief, provided your record is decent. Did they bust the Ram, too? If you get Judge Rorick, look worried.

We have submitted your question to Madam Tashia, the world reknowned online psychic. She is currently in a trance trying to channel the lottery numbers for tonight. I will let you know as soon as she comes up with an answer to your question.

Yes they did get the ram too. I was advised by someone to reschedule the date because the cop might not be able to make it on the date i reschedule it too is this a good idea or not?

Still in her trance.... or maybe she is just asleep. If she doesn't 'wake up' soon, I will have to break out my old 'Fortune Telling 8-ball'.

Texas Speeding Ticket

Call the clerk of court and check out the exact violation. Many cities/counties have an "unsafe speed" ordinance that is not reported to the DMV or either is a no points ticket. If that is the case then your best option is to just pay the ticket since you admit that you were speeding.

If there are points attached you have the option of requesting a deferment or Texas traffic school. With a deferment you are on probation and the ticket does not show on your record if you do not receive another ticket in the probation period. However if you do get another ticket then both go on your record. Most Texas courts now accept online traffic school but you need to contact the clerk and receive approval. With both of these you do have to pay the fine and costs. Her is a link for more info:

Of course you can always plead not guilty and take your chances in court. However it sounds like the officer gave you a break by not charging you with racing. I have seen officers write another ticket when someone they give a break hauls them into court.
