Police Force

What is the name of your state? NC

There is nothing I want more than to become a police officer for the state of NC. The only problem is, when I was younger, I received several traffic tickets. Now that I am older, my past has caught up with me. My license was suspended more that 10 times for failure to appear in court. Well, now I worked with my lawyer to pay off these old tickets and fines, but the police department will not let me apply because of my past violations. Becuase they are traffic violations, they can not be expunged. What can I do to receive some sort of waiver so that I may obtain my dream job?

My response:

Let's see . . .

You've already asked your attorney this same question, and he lives and works in NC. Yet, he doesn't have any answers for you.

However, you come to an Internet site that is populated with attorneys who DON'T live and work in NC, and you're hoping for an answer?

I guess you're going to have to keep dreaming.

If you didn't know the answer to the question--then don't reply. My lawyer handled my driving tickets, not my issue with the police force. I was told by someone that I need to send a letter to the attorney general because he is the only person that give me the "okay" to become a police officer. Would anyone happen to know how I can do this? I just need some assistance. Again, if you can't help, then don't respond.

*** Sorry, but contrary to popular belief, there is no 'magic wand' that anyone could wave to remove your criminal conduct from your past. I would suggest you talk with the recruiting officers at several police departments, even out of state. Not all departments would hold this against you.

Oh, and get rid of the Messiah complex!!
