Is it possible to get my careless driving violation reduced ?

i received a carless driving violation in my home state of new jersey while riding my motorcycle though the pine barrens. admittidly i was rushing a bit to meet a friend and compete in a horseshoe tournament, when I passed a few slow moving cars on a desolate two lane road. when i pulled along side the first car i saw that there were a few other vehicles traveling slow and closely bunched toghther, i then decided to overtake them at the same time only to realise that the third car was a police officer. the other cars were so close together that my only option was to put on my blinker and pull right in front of the cop. he then flicked on his lights and we pulled right over. i got a careless driving ticket supposedly for passing without using my blinker. my question is can i plee bargain down to a non points violation to keep my record clean and how do i go about that in court tommorow. any tips would be greatly appreciated.

In my case, in new jersey the procecuter would have reduced the charge but I had injuries involved, and he couldnt. Yours might do it for you, except that you are not an old man driving an old car. I think you would do well to ask him before the trial date. Its a judgement call base on his jungement of you. If it was me making the decision, I wouldnt,- motercycle, passing two cars, young driver, responsibility. But it is still worth a try.

What do you want to get it reduced to? Didn't driver's ed teach you that you should only pass if its clear and you can safely make it? And shouldn't common sense tell you not to cut off a police car?

It MAY be possible to get the charge reduced. However, that is entirely within the prosecutor and/or courts discretion on whether to reduce the charges or not.
Therefore, you won't know the ABSOLUTE answer to your question until your or your attorney contact the prosecutor and/or court.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Thanks for all the replies unfortunately I have already gone to court. I was able to just talk to the procecutor and ask if he was willing to let me plead guilty to a lesser offence. He reduced it to a non-moving violation with a slightly higher fine $125 vs $80.
