What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Jersey

I would like to know if it is legal in New Jersey (Bergen County) to have a Business advertisement on the back of my truck's windshield that is see through vinyl without having commercial license plates?

Check with NJ Motor Vehicle Commission.

This may not be detailed in the vehicle code but may be in the rules/regulations of the commission.

I know in neighboring NY you WOULD need commercial plates if your pickup truck is marked in such a manner.

Bottom line is you need to check with MVC.
