What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC

I received a ticket today for going 57 in a 45 (They changed the speed limit from 55 a couple of months ago and I only come to this area occasionally.)
This is my first ticket in over 35 years. I want to as for a prayer for judgement. Should I wait for my court date, or should I try to handle it prior to that date?

Thanks.

This is what happened to my wife,
She asked for a Prayer for Judgment, and the judge asked why.
She said it's her first ticket ever. (That's forty years of driving)
He said, "It's the first time you were caught."
He did give her guilty for nine miles over.

If you ask the DA for a break, he may agree to guilty of nine miles over the limit, so your insurance won't go up.

From what I've seen in court, first you plead not guilty, then, usually in court, you get a chance to talk to the DA, and ask for the break as you never get tickets and are a good driver etc.

They are really only interested in the court costs.

Since the courts want the money, I wish they'd drop the points, but...
