pulled over without probable cause

I'm from colorado and I was pulled over for having expired
tags.The problem is my taggs appear legal.The only way
to know that there not would be to investigate or run them.I was doing nothing illegal at the time he ran my plates.And if he did have probable cause ,such as a moving violation,then why is'nt it listed on my ticket.
My girlfriend Was arrested during that stop for a warrent.Is that warrent still valid even during an illegal stop.

The stop was not illegal. If your tags were expired then it is a very legal stop. An officer can run your plate whenever they want to.
