When we went to get insurance on our newly purchased car, I discovered a speeding ticket that I have no recollection of at all, and neither does my husband. Is there a way to get a copy of it?

I know it's a silly question, and though I am prone to memory lapses, this isn't really something I'd forget. We have no records of paying that ticket either, and we must have since your license gets suspended here if you don't pay and mine isn't. I live in Virginia.

Thanks!

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

If you don't remember, either you have amnesia, alzheimers or MISTAKEN IDENTITY OR THEY ATTACHED THIS TICKET TO THE WRONG FILE!!! I think the latter two happened!

So.....contact the powers that be (DMV and police) and see if you can figure this mess out.

If that doens't work, seriously consider talking to an attorney, because there may be fraud issues involved, of which you are unaware. Not to scare you, but it happens.
