Radar/ Laser Detectors

California Traffic law, is it legal to use a Radar/360deg Laser Detector or SWS (Safety Warning System)in Northern California?

the california vehicle code does not prohibit the use of a radar detection devices. however, radar detectors only work when the radar is activated. most cops i know do not activate their radar system until their ready to lock a speed in. by the time your radar unit alerts it's too late.
