| | | | Radar ticket in Nebraska What is the name of your state? Nebraska
I am fighting a radar speeding ticket from the State Patrol in Nebraska. My wife was driving & I was a passenger in the vehicle. Am I allowed to stand with my wife at the podium & ask/answer questions of the witnesses for the prosecution?
Thanx.

| | | I don't think that anyone from NE regularly follows these boards. But, if I had to guess, unless you got the citation, only your wife will be able to ask questions of witnesses. I imagine you could be called as a witness, but I doubt you would be allowed to stand with her and cross examine any witnesses.

Carl | Correctomundo. Unless the OP is an attorney, he cannot "assist" or otherwise "help" another individual's case in the manner suggested, for he will be practicing law without a license. You are only entitled to represent yourself if you're not a lawyer.
Of course, that doesn't mean you can't help prepare with her beforehand and pass her notes during questioning (be careful with the latter one though, some judges will go ballistic, others don't mind). | |
