Red light camera ticket

State: Southern California

I got a red light camera ticket in January. There was a problem with the ticket, it had my father's name on the ticket while my picture was on it. My father paid the ticket and then went to court, and ended up beating the ticket since the picture didn't match his face. Now over 3 months later I was sent the ticket asking me to pay it and to go to court. I heard that the city has to give you the ticket within 15 days of the incedent, which was over 3 months ago. What should I do?

You can hire an attorney and give it a whirl.

The problem here is that they had the wrong guy - now they have the right guy. Unless you can argue that it was not you in the citation, you may be out of luck.

One thing that most the agencies do that have these cameras is they compare the photo to the license photos to anyone in the household. Apparently they didn't do that initially in this case.

What is your purpose on this forum? Are we babysitting you, and not keeping a good eye on you? Your postings make no sense.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

I suggest that you do a google on red light camera ticket and make some inquiries at the sites that search finds. You will get info that is more on target.
