Basic question. If you can help me, please let me know your credentials or if you've had experience with this...I want to make sure I'm well equipped before going to court
Today, I ran a red at a red light camera intersection. I was driving the car that was registered only to my wife.
I'm guessing I may get a ticket in the mail, because the lights were flashing.
Two things:
-I don't want a ticket on my wife's record, because she already has two. Does the Los Angeles police check to match the driver with the registered owner? Do they currently fine the registered owner even if they aren't driving?
-Secondly, I would mind taking ownership for the ticket, but I wouldn't want to just offer the information. I'm guessing my wife will need to go to court if we get a ticket so I want her to know her rights without encouraging her to lie or anything. Does she need to identify me in order to get off of her ticket? Really, its a ticket, so I don't want her to get in any contempt or legal issues, but she shouldn't have this on her record.
