What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? My wife had a ticket : her nephew came from China visiting,and passed a red light in downtown LA,CA.She sent in a letter saying she was not the driver ,the ticket shown the male driver!
Now they refused to dissmis and want her to file a contest at the court .Any advise? THX

What's the mystery? She should "file a contest at the court".
That is what it says on the citation as well... No the exact words but still...

davidnguy, have her contact the court to schedule a court appearance (an arraignment). When she appear in court on that date, she can show a picture ID (her license would do the job). The judge will look at her ID and compare that picture to the one on the citation. If it is clear that she doesn't look like the driver, then the citation should be dismissed.

She does not have to identify who the driver is. Simply plead not guilty, show the picture ID and the citation should be dismissed.
