red light ticket in sanfrancisco


hey i just got a ticket in san francisco, near japan town.
it was late at night around 11pm and there was no camera
i ran on a yellow (i think) and a police car pulled me over
he also said that i could contest cause he thinks "it was close", as in the yellow.

what do you guys think of my situation? what should i do or say in court?
the warning slip was mailed to me and my ticket cost 371 bucks..
pls help me this is my first time and i m pretty scared..

This is my standard advice.

There are excellent books written on how to defend California tickets. Go see reference librarian at library.

In SF you also have excellent chance the officer will not show up for the trial (if you ask for one). If he doesn't show, they will dismiss the case against you.
