What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Is getting then Written Declaration from the officer that he submitted to the court as easy as sending in a written request to the Clerk or is there a better way to do it?

Discovery to the DA, informal letter should do it ... anything else you want? Ask for that as well.

Really, To the DA huh? That's a different response. The paperwork is filed with the court though not the DA, is that correct? Why not just send it to the court, do they not have to handle that kind of request?

No, that won't do it.

No point asking the DA for it, he doesn't have it. Even if he had it, he wouldn't bother sending it to you. Any letter you send the DA regarding a traffic court matter simply gets tossed in the bin or sent to the relevant traffic court, where it will be placed in your file without action.

The easiest way to get it is simply to go to the court and ask for it. You have a right to see everything in your file. You can also copy anything in there, although they may charge for that. You could write to them, but you have a poor chance of getting a response.
