What is the name of your state? California.

My arraignment date was 12/2/05. My trial date was 1/17/06. I made a motion to dismiss the case because of the denial of my right to a speedy trial in court today. It had been over 45 days since my arraignment. The judge said that since I had not filed a formal complaint on my arraignment date, she was going to deny my motion. Subsequently I was found guilty of speeding. Is there any chance I can file an appeal? Is what the judge decided legal? I did not file a formal complaint because it was a clerk who set the court date not the judge and when I complained to her she said that it was the earliest date avaialble. Thanks in advance for your help.
